Armenia, Yerevan: Solar energy for residential buildings

The project in Yerevan was implemented under Demonstration projects programme. Within the project the following measures were implemented:
- Installation of photovoltaic systems on roofs of 97 multi-apartment residential buildings;
- Installation of LED luminaries with bulbs for outdoor lighting at the buildings;
- Installation of LED luminaries equipped with bulbs and motion sensors for indoor entrance/stairwell lighting at the 97 buildings;
- Provision of LED bulbs for low-income families in the 97 buildings;
- Establishment of revolving funds through which proceeds of sale of excess energy produced to the grid, will be used to finance energy efficiency and pay for maintenance and operation of the PV panels.
