Moldova, Cantemir: Thermal rehabilitation of 4 public buildings
The EU funded project “Cantemir: Thermal rehabilitation of educational buildings - CanTREB» was implemented within the framework of Covenant of Mayors Demonstration Program by Cantemir municipality and NGO “Alliance for Energy efficiency and Renewables”. 4 public buildings (2 kindergartens, lyceum and gymnasium) have been thermally refurbished in the line with the best European practices and allowed municipality to reduce costs for their maintenance and operation as well as improve indoor conditions for children and staff of public institutions. Moreover, biomass boiled is constructed to provide heat energy for modernized buildings.

European Sustainable Energy Week and Energy Days are gaining popularity among the signatories to the Covenant of Mayors in Moldova. Due to COVID-19, the activities under EUSEW 2020 were carried out exclusively online in the Republic of Moldova, but there was a wide participation of signatories and support structures.
Special Edition of Newsletter #10 devoted to EUSEW 2020
The special issue is dedicated to the European Sustainable Energy Week 2020, which was very unusual this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Totally, 85 Energy Days were organised by the CoM Signatories in the EaP countries, mostly in a digital format. The Newsletter highlights the main figures related to the participation of Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine in the #EUSEW2020, including number and types of activities, social media engagement, regional quiz and special online events held by the CoM East project.
